Mobile Gaming Stands Above Console and PC Gaming As A $100 Billion Industry

2019 was the year when mobile gaming not only became everyone’s preference but also saw a 25% increase in spending as compared to other formats of gaming. With such statistics in place, experts predicted that the years ahead will only get better for mobile gaming and eventually the guesses are becoming true.

Began 2020 and the Weekly global number of games downloaded right in the week of Feb 23, 2020 turned out to be 20% higher than the average weekly level, which was set in the Q4 of 2019. China had the biggest week in 2019 in terms of Games downloads on iOS in between the dates of Feb 2-8, 2020.

Now with Coronavirus making people stay glued to their mobile screens and sit idol at home, it is obvious that more consumers will try out mobile gaming more and make 2020 the biggest year to date for mobile gaming.

Mobile Gaming Leaving Behind Computers and Consoles

In 2019, mobile gaming outpaced all forms of gaming - whether the competition was with consoles or PC/MAC gaming. The total spend turned out to be 2.4x more than PC/MAC gaming and 2.9x more than that of home consoles. Besides that, we also saw franchises like Call of Duty and Mario Kart tour shifting to the mobile platform because they knew that mobile was about to democratize gaming and give anyone the opportunity to enjoy their favorite games with heavy graphics on mobile anytime, anywhere.

But that was still just a start!

Expansion of Market Will Only Benefit Publishers More

With an in-depth research by App Annie regarding the type the of games that are capturing the attention of users, 47% of the top 100 game downloads in 2019 were casual arcade games and core games came around 18%, with 55% time spent in top games.

However, when it came to the matter of consumer spend (as highlighted in chart below), core games dominated the category with 76% consumer spends. Much of the credit for this success goes to the nature of core games as gamers get engaged in all sorts of customization, competitive online play and even season pass memberships.



The total spend overall doesn’t belong to the big publishers only anymore. There are emerging players who have also crossed $5 million annual consumer spend with amazing games. Moreover, the total number of games crossing $100 million annual consumer spend also experienced a 29% growth in 2019 when compared with 2017- where it all began.

Moving Forward...

As the prediction regarding mobile gaming surpassing $100 million in consumer spend goes on, this mark can be achieved with following the trends with great precision and more engaging games. The publishers have started off well with their research and will continue to inspire the emerging companies to create great games with a massive mobile gaming market out there, a lot still is left to be done in order to astonish the world with the potential that mobile gaming holds.

• Create a folder named test.jad (you can give any name only the thing is the extension should be .jad)
• Now move all the files which you want to hide, to this folder.
• Then create a new folder named test.jar (use the same name used in the first step,but the extension should be .jar, make sure previous one is .jad extension and now this one is .jar extension)
• Now the folder test.jad will be hidden with all its contents!

Now here is the steps to recover your hidden files:

• Either rename or delete the folder test.jar
• Then the folder test.jad will be visible again with all the contents in it.

How To Change Java Applications, Games Resolution On Your Nokia Mobile?

Have you ever come across the problems with screen resolution on your mobile? Like when you tried to install a Java game or application and finds that the resolution is too small or too big for your phone. If you have problems like this, then you are just like me. Sometimes, I have to squint my eyes just to play the game as it is too small on my phone or its too big. So here is the solution for the above problems.

You can actually change the resolution of the Java Games for the Nokia phones very easily.

You should be using WinRAR for this. You can download an evaluation copy of WinRAR from http://www.win-rar.com.
Using WinRAR, open the Java file. The Java file has a file extension .jar.

There should be a folder called META-INF. Open that folder.
Inside that folder, there is a file called MANIFEST.MF. Drag and drop the MANIFEST.MF to your Desktop

Open it using Notepad and at the end of the file, add the following two lines to the MANIFEST.MF file.

Nokia-MIDlet-Original-Display-Size: 176,208
Nokia-MIDlet-Target-Display-Size: 352,416

Now save the file. The drag the file back to the .jar file folder META-INF using WinRAR.

Install the JAR file to your phone.

NOTE: For your mobile what is the xxx,xxx (176, 208 and 352.416) in the Nokia-MIDlet-Original-Display-Size & Nokia-MIDlet-Target-Display-Size? It is the screen resolution.

E.g.
Nokia-MIDlet-Original-Display-Size: 176,208
Nokia-MIDlet-Target-Display-Size: 352,416

The above shows that the original game resolution is 176×208 and the new target resolution is 352×416 i.e. for N80. The Original Display Size is the actual resolution of the game. The Target Display Size is the resolution you want the game to be displayed at on your phone, for example 352 ,416 is the resolution of the Nokia N80. For Nokia 3110c 128,160 is the Target-Display-Size.Please be aware that the resolution of a game can be resized larger but not smaller.

Once a call is made to an emergency telephone number, it must be answered.

If you find yourself out of coverage area of your mobile network and there is an emergency, dial emergency number and the mobile will search any existing network(if your home network is not there) to establish the emergency number for you.Most GSM mobile phones can dial emergency calls even when the phone keyboard is locked, the phone is without a SIM card..

Most GSM mobile phones have 112, 999 and 911 as pre-programmed emergency numbers that are always available.Most GSM phones accept a larger list of emergency numbers without SIM card, such as 112, 911, 118, 119, 000, 110, 08, and 999. Try on our mobile these codes when keypad is locked.

Mobile phones generate additional problems for emergency operators, as many phones will allow emergency numbers to be dialed even while the keypad is locked. Since mobile phones are typically carried in pockets and small bags, the keys can easily be depressed accidentally, leading to unintended calls. A system has been developed to connect calls where the caller is sent to an automated system, leaving more operators free to handle genuine emergency calls.

There is no national emergency number, but 108 is used in many states.

Note: For Example, 100 is the emergency number for INDIA. But sometimes a person from India may not access this 100 number, when a mobile(like Nokia,Sony etc.) keypad is locked. Because Nokia mobiles are not manufactured in India. If you take VIDEOCON Mobile, which is Indian manufacturer, you can dial 100 even though your VIDEOCON Mobile keypad was locked. But for all mobiles (Nokia, Sony, Videocon etc.) 112, 911, 118, 119, 000, 110, 08, and 999 will work with keypad lock also.

Once you press this key sequence, you will be presented with a menu which has options like Service Info, Service Tests and Text Labels. Select Service Tests. That’s it, Now you are up with the menu to test different components of your phone. Different components are tested different way and you will not find it difficult to carry over the process.

This is another good check before you buy any phone, especially second hand ones. If phone is SIM locked, you may not be able to switch to other GSM operators. Do not lock your phone if you don't know the unlock code.

6. If you change the language from default to any other language, then it may be difficult to switch to default language. The shortcut is very simple. Just press <0000> for newer Sony Ericsson phones and For Older Ericssons *#0000#. WHY WE NEED SCREEN CAPTURE?

It will be useful,

1. To capture an error message so that you can forward that to your friends or some experts to gain solution.
2. To capture your favorite Nokia theme to share with your friends through email or some social networking site like Facebook.
3. To capture and share your favorite game or application screen shots with friends.

How to take Screenshot?

1- Connect your Phone to your Pc via USB before connecting and close all the Nokia Softwares i.e Nokia Pc Suite, Nokia Ovi Suite or Nokia Software Updater.
2- Run the Application – NSD (in the Extracted Folder), navigate to File > Connect.

3- After Connecting Phone, press any key of your Phone and then click Dump. The Screenshot will be of the screen that is showing on your Phone.

4- Click on Save Dump and save it wherever you want. You could save your Screenshot in JPG, BMP or in PNG.

5- If you want to take screenshot when an App is running.
Mark JAVA, run an App and click on Dump.
