After much delay, the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India has notified that the new guidelines for telemarketers will come into effect from September 27, 2011. Telecom Regulatory Authority Of India finally fixed the dead line for implementing Telecom commercial communications customer preference regulations.
ALL MOBILE USERS ARE LIMITED TO SEND ONLY 100 SMS/DAY
The most sad thing is that TRAI also asks the telecom operators to withdraw all the SMS packs which provide more than 100 SMS per day. These packs will not be available for renewal from the date of notification. This decision will really effect all heavy texters, especially youngsters. Even if you are having SMS pack activated, you will be charged for every SMS beyond 100/day.
NO MORE IRRITATING CALLS AND SMS’s FROM TELECOM MARKETERS
According to TRAI, all those people who have registered with National Customer Preference Registry (earlier, Do Not Call Registry) will not get any calls related to commercial interest from the said date.
It is believed that this will help to stop telemarketing messages. TRAI said that all telecom operator in India should withdraw all telecom resources allocated to a telemarketer except those resources which have been allocated in accordance with the provisions of the regulations.
